Exercise
There's a variety of exercises that you can do to help your core, but there's only 2 things that I'd every tell you to buy to help this process out.
An Ab Wheel
- These used properly are a GREAT core exercise.
And a Pair of Push Up Bars
- I love these, they help my form, make my push-ups more effective, and prevent my wrists from hurting like normal push-ups.
Between these 2 items you can do a number of great core exercises, which is perfect for your goals of getting six pack abs. Couple this with cardio to burn those extra calories and you're on your way.

Diet
Here's the part where you expect me to tell you what to eat, when to eat it, and how much. WRONG. That's not how this works. In the real world, we can't always eat the perfect healthy meal. I know this, because I never can. Here's what you need to do, you need to track what you're eating, and compare it to your daily goal.
First off decide how many calories a day you should consume.

Be honest here, don't throw yourself off. Now track what you eat(I personally download a calorie counter app on my phone, to make it easier) and make sure it is less than what you burn. Not 1000 calories left or some crazy nonsense like that, but 20-25% less then what you are supposed to intake depending how comfortable you are with it. Ease into it if you need to, and stick to it!
It's as easy as that, not rocket science. Burn fat, build muscle. Done.
